Product Safety & Quality Control Associate

SUMMARY

Working independently, ThinkGeek's Product Safety & Quality Control Associate is responsible for utilizing multiple systems to ensure worldwide compliance for the ThinkGeek omni-channel brand of products. The Associate assists PSQC manager in vendor compliance, product testing, tracking, reporting, and management as well as packaging reviews and PSQC communications. The Associate will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities are completed with minimal supervision but may require superviso'’s advance approval.  Some non-routine activities will require supervisor's and/or leadership's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Record safety test results & product inspection dates in NetSuite
  • File safety testing and product inspections in Box
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain Certificates of Compliance and Certificates of Insurance
  • Generate and distribute testing requisition forms
  • Generate weekly Certificate of Compliance status report
  • Send approved samples for product inspection
  • Create Certificates of Conformity for our wholesale team
  • Manage new vendor set up for Certificate of Conformity uploads
  • Perform back up duties for the PSQC manager
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace
  • Model team commitment by adhering to the team's expectations and guidelines; fulfilling team responsibilities; and demonstrating personal commitment to the team by being cooperative, collaborative, and flexible

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Accredited bachelor's degree in a related field required or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in QA, risk management, compliance, or related field desired
  • Proficient attention to detail and accuracy are imperative
  • Ability to appropriately raise concerns to management when data or information indicates PSQC issue(s) or is inaccurate, incomplete, or missing
  • Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, especially PowerPoint , Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of the collectibles, pop culture, and/or video gaming industries
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to ThinkGeek & GME policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest and ethical responsibilities
